First, let's talk about comfort. Nylon is a lightweight waterproof material that can be woven together to make many different items. It provides structure and support, yet is comfortable enough to wear every day.

When you get a new nylon strap, it may take a few days for it to soften - much like wearing a new pair of shoes. After that, you won't even notice you're wearing it. If you want to speed up the process, it's quite simple. All you need to do is wash the belt with plenty of clothes and fabric softener. Let it dry before you reapply it, and you will notice a big difference.

Nylon is waterproof, but not completely waterproof. This means that the strap will not be damaged when wet and will dry faster than leather, but it will get wet. Nylon can retain water within its threads, so it can absorbs sweat and water. Fortunately, unpleasant odors can be eliminated by simply washing the band.

If you must wash the nylon band, we recommend soaking it for best results. Fill a bowl with warm water and diluted hand or dish-washing soap, then place your strap in the solution. After soaking, rub it well and let it dry. Make sure to completely dry the strap before putting it into a drawer because certain metals like copper can oxidise or tarnish. Lastly, avoid putting the nylon belt in the dryer as this can cause the belt to shrink.

Nylon Strap Styles
Nylon straps can be made of one or two pieces - the main difference is how they are worn. A one piece (or single-pass) straps wears the fabric under the watch, this fine for a normal timepiece but isn't recommended for the Apple Watch because it blocks its biometrics sensors. On the other hand, a two-piece strap is connected to the sides of the watch.

The versatility of each strap makes it the perfect addition to your Apple Watch. With a range of customization options, there's something for every style. Barkerhill has a variety two-piece styles with a selection of different weave patterns.
